Singer-songwriter Aile The Shota will release his first digital single AURORA TOKIO on January 5th.
Aile The Shota is the current stage name of Shota Watanabe, one of the final 10 contestants from SKY-HI's audition show "THE FIRST". Praised throughout the competition for his songwriting skills and creativity, Shota was offered a solo artist contract with SKY-HI's management company/label BMSG instead of a place in the boy group
BE:FIRST during the show's finale.
While Shota has released songs independently in the past under other stage names and he was featured on a remix of SKY-HI's single me timeearlier this year, this will
be his first release under his current moniker and his first solo work since joining BMSG.
It was noted that Shota's stage name comes from "Lethe", as SKY-HI told him that he is like a river because he has a presence that naturally draws others to him and that keeps him at the centre of activity. He then added "Ai", which formed the word "Aile", giving the name various other meanings such as "love", "family" and "wings".
AURORA TOKIO was produced by beatmaker/DJ Shin Sakiura, and it features KenT from Soulflex on saxophone and flute. The lyrics were penned by Shota, and they are said to paint a realistic picture
of Tokyo.
