IO from KANDYTOWN to Release a Collaboration Single with DJ BEERT and Square Off
Japanese rapper IO, US hip-hop duo Square Off and Tokyo-based Tanzanian producer DJ BEERT will release their collaboration single "Change Up" on May 25th.
Tokyo-based Tanzanian DJ/producer DJ BEERT and US hip-hop duo Square Off will release the second installment of their Japan x US hip-hop collaboration project on May 25th. The single, titled Change Up, will feature
rapper
IO from hip-hop crew KANDYTOWN.
The Harlem borned and raised brothers Trips and Slim, sons of legendary Human Beatbox Doug E. Fresh, started their music career as hip-hop duo Square Off in 2011. Their meeting
with DJ BEERT in 2017 gave them the opportunity to launch their collaborative project with local Japanese artists. The first release of this project was What I Want with Japanese rapper
febb as Young Mason last February.
For this new release, Square Off worked with rapper and model IO. While being a member of hip-hop crew KANDYTOWN, IO also launched a solo career in 2012 and has since released
three albums. The lastest one, Player’s Ballads, released in June 2019, can be listened to on
Spotify.
