King Gnu to Create Theme Song for "Taiyou wa Ugokanai" Movie

Rock band King Gnu will be writing the theme song for action movie "Taiyou wa Ugokanai", which will be released in Japan on May 15th.

"Taiyou wa Ugokanai" is a film adaptation of Yoshida Shuichi's suspense novel of the same name. The movie will star Fujiwara Tatsuya and Takeuchi Ryoma as the lead characters. The two play spies who both have bombs attached to their hearts that are set to explode in 24 hours. Due to the immense scale of the action scenes, the movie was mostly shot overseas in Bulgaria. At the same time as the movie, a serial drama with an original story supervised by Yoshida will also be broadcast on WOWOW.

King Gnu created a new song titled Abuku for the project. Abuku is said to match the emotions of the lead characters, who are constantly near death. A trailer featuring the song has also been revealed.
