More Details on LUNA SEA's 30th Anniversary Album

As previously reported, LUNA SEA will be celebrating their 30th anniversary with the release of their tenth album, CROSS. The album was co-produced by Grammy Award winner Steve Lillywhite, and it will hit stores on December 18th.

Adding on to the band's two themes for “Mobile Suit Gundam THE ORIGIN Zenya Akai Suisei”, Sora no uta ~Higher and Higher~ and Hisobi, it has been revealed that the album will feature two more tie-up songs. These will include PHILIA, which is being used as the theme for an MMORPG titled "ETERNAL" and THE BEYOND, which was used as the theme for "Mobile Suit Gundam"'s 40th anniversary project earlier this year. The album will be available in six versions. Limited Edition A will come with a bonus DVD featuring a live music video for Sora no uta ~Higher and Higher~ and the MV for Hisobi. Limited Edition B will add a second CD featuring the song BEYOND THE TIME ~Moebius no uchuu o koete~ and a bonus DVD with versions of the music video for Sora no uta ~Higher and Higher~ featuring both Japanese and English lyrics. The regular edition will be CD-only.

The version limited to sale at their two LUNA SEA 30th Anniversary LIVE LUNATIC X’MAS 2019 shows that will be held at Saitama Super Arena on December 21st and 22nd will come with a bonus CD featuring live recordings of 12 songs from their LUNA SEA LUNATIC X’MAS 2018 -Introduction to the 30th Anniversary-concerts held on December 22nd and 23rd last year. The other two versions will be special box sets limited to members of their fan club SLAVE that come with a live CD, a live DVD or Blu-ray, and various goods.

In addition, the band has revealed a new artist picture taken by established photographer Kazumi Kurigami, who has worked on high-profile projects such as the posters for the Japan World Exposition as well as images for many famous artists. The album art has also been revealed. It features a monochrome design with a gold logo. The design looks simple initially, but reveals more layers as the viewer's eyes linger on it.
