Ex-SMAP member and popular actor Takuya Kimura will release his first solo album on January 8th.
While Kimura was active in the music industry with SMAP for nearly three decades, he has been focusing mainly on his acting career since the group's disbandment at the end of 2016. In recent years, he has played leading roles in
films such as "Blade of the Immortal", "Killing for the Prosecution" and "Masquerade Hotel", and he also served as the voice and likeness for the main character from the video game "Judgment". In August 2018, he began hosting a radio show called
Kimura Takuya: FLOW, which featured discussions with various musicians. Many of the guests on the show, including his longtime friend B'z vocalist Koshi Inaba, encouraged him to return to performing music, which led to the start of this
project.
Titled Go with the Flow, the album will feature songs written by artists such as Inaba, [ALEXANDROS] frontman Yoohei Kawakami, LOVE PSYCHEDELICO, Naotaro Moriyama,
Noriyuki Makihara,
Ikimono-gakari's
Yoshiki Mizuno, and Uru.
