Earlier this year,
GLAY announced a number of special plans to celebrate their 25th anniversary. One of these activities will include two back-to-back shows at the MetLife Dome in Saitama on August 17th and 18th.
To build excitement for these concerts,
GLAY have announced that they will release four consecutive digital singles - one for each month until August.
The first release is the "TV size" version of a new song called
Hajimari no uta, which was just released today. The song was composed by vocalist
TERU, and it was written to serve as the opening theme for the anime series "Ace of Diamond act II". This is the fourth theme song
GLAY has contributed to the "Ace of Diamond" franchise. Links to stream and purchase the release on various platforms are available via the band's
official website.
They have also announced another digital single titled
Gengou for April 26th. The title means "era name", and it is a song that guitarist
TAKURO wrote recently, inspired by Japan announcing the name of the period that will be following the current Heisei era. It is said to be loaded with his respect for people who have survived through the Showa and Heisei eras and encouragement for the next generation that will lead Japan through the new Reiwa era.

Hajimari no uta using the Apple Music player below.
