Alternative rock band sads have announced that they will pause activities at the end of 2018.

The announcement was made via their official Twitter account, and it likely came as a shock to fans that have been following the band's recent activities, as sads are currently in the middle of a series of special two-man events celebrating the 7th anniversary of their return from their first hiatus.

Along with the hiatus announcement, they revealed the full list of dates for a lengthy nationwide tour titled The reproduction 7th anniversary TOUR "FALLING", which will kick off at Akasaka BLITZ on July 6th. It will consist of three "chapters" that will each feature seven dates, and it will end at Shinagawa Stellar Ball on November 30th.

The band also recently announced that they will put out a new album. Titled FALLING, it will be available for purchase from live venues during the aforementioned nationwide tour starting from their show at Umeda CLUB QUATTRO on July 21st. The band's website also states that it will be available for purchase online soon.

In the Twitter post, sads thanked their fans for their nearly 20 years of support. They stated that they hope the fans will be able to cherish this album and tour as a final treasure from sads.

sads was formed in 1999 around KUROYUME vocalist Kiyoharu. The band originally went on hiatus in 2003, but resumed activities in 2010 with a new line-up.
