yu to Leave Matenrou Opera

Matenrou Opera drummer yu will be leaving the band in March, and he will then retire from the music industry.

The announcement was made at a concert in Sendai, which was part of the band's 10th anniversary tour PANTHEON TOUR -coda-. yu will step down following the tour final in Tokyo on March 2nd. His departure is due to a case of focal dystonia in his left hand. The condition can cause involuntary movements and misalignments, and it is incurable.

yu has been a member of Matenrou Opera since they formed in 2007. His history with vocalist sono goes back even further, as the two performed together in the bands GRIDE and Jeniva.
