Hanafugetsu is a trio of classically-trained musicians who combine koto, shakuhachi and piano to create elegant acoustic pop. Since 2012, they've released several records and frequently appear at events across Japan.

In 2013, the trio formed the nucleus of the eight-piece crossover ensemble, Wagakki Band.
