Since her debut in 2008, Fukui Mai has been making her name as a singer and songwriter. In her compositions she often blends rock, pop, hip-hop and even folk music elements. Her repertoire reaches from deeply moving ballads to energetic pop songs with an acoustic touch.

In 2011 the artist saw her greatest success so far, when she was chosen as the singer of the "FINAL FANTASY XIII-2" theme song.
