My Little Lover

My Little Lover’s 19th single was released in August 2007. dreamy success contains five songs in total, offering just a bit more than the average single.

The first track is the witty, lively title song dreamy success. The track is extremely catchy and will make you start to forget all of your sorrows, and before you know it, you’re singing along with akko. Dynamic vocals, soft little bells and the sound of electric guitars bring this song to life. The only disappointing part is that it's over too soon.

For those expecting another pop-rock anthem, they will surely be disappointed with jelly fish. The second track is a slow, nostalgic ballad. akko’s sensitive voice weaves around the sound of a Hammond organ, and the old-fashioned electric guitar solo brings a little life shortly before the end. The track reminds of an old tune by Cyndi Lauper. In spite of everything, this slow representative of My Little Lover's works sticks in your mind forever.

Track number three is slower still; it's a quiet melancholy ballad with a Spanish accent. However, in comparison to the other two songs, this one has little personality and you'll be tempted to skip it - it is too sad and drowsy sounding. Included on the maxi-single are the instrumental versions of dreamy success, which surprisingly doesn’t sound so witty without vocals, and jelly fish.

The title track, dreamy success, is full of joy and life, and it clearly stands out the most; it definitely gives rise to the thought that My Little Lover will have a dreamy success right down the line. The B-sides aren’t poorly chosen, and fit this charming gem well.
