Since their inception only five years ago, An Cafe has had successful concerts in Europe, America, Korea and of course Japan, their momentum building with every milestone they make. As the first special event of their five year anniversary, they decided to hold their ANCAFESTA'08 -SUMMER DIVE- on the special open air stage at Yokohama Akarenga Souko event square on August 30th. This will be their fourth open air one-man live and they've already come up with various ideas for the concert. Here they spoke about the charm of open air lives and their eagerness to do them.

You have decided to do an open air live in Yokohama on August 30th as the first special event of your five year anniversary!

Miku: Yes, it's our SUMMER DIVE! It may be the first project of our anniversary, but we want to make this event a trademark for the group, so when people hear our name they think of this event.

So you want to make it an annual event? You have done three open air concerts up until now so you must really like them.

Teruki: Yes! We like them a lot! We did outdoor lives in Yoyogi, Tokyo and Osaka during the daytime, but the live at Hibiya Yagai started in the evening. I like lives during the daytime, but I like lives that start in the evening even more. Yagai Ongakudou was very nice as I could see how various things changed from daytime through to evening and night.

Miku: Yeah, that was great!

We like the open feeling, for both those performing and the audience.

kanon: And the breeze feels good. I also like outdoor concerts as I can see the fans' faces clearly.

Miku: Yes. In live houses, we sometimes can't see the audience because of the lighting, but outdoors the lighting doesn't go out to the audience, so we can see their faces clearly.

You can see the audience members enjoying themselves and you become more excited. Yu-ki and takuya have experienced an open air live in Osaka, right?

Yu-ki: Yes. I thought that the piano sounded great. I felt good as I played.

takuya: I had the feeling that I could play freely and I felt good as I played my guitar because it was like the sounds were not confined to any space and were able to go anywhere. I thought I could play more easily.

Miku: Yes. There were no walls, so my voice and the sounds of the instruments could go anywhere. I felt like it would reach the Cafekko who couldn't come to that live. And in Yoyogi an even bigger audience gathered, so all I could see from the stage was the audience.

Teruki: It wasn't the horizon, but it was like a horizon made by people.

Wow!

Miku: Yes, yes! It was like a horizon of people, all I could see was people. I really want to see that again someday.
