Anna Tsuchiya - BUBBLE TRIP/Sweet Sweet Song

Review of Anna Tsuchiya's upcoming single BUBBLE TRIP/Sweet Sweet Song.

Anna Tsuchiya’s sixth single BUBBLE TRIP/Sweet Sweet Song is set to be released on August 1st of this year. The single will be released in two versions: a limited edition CD+DVD and a regular CD edition. The CD+DVD contains the PV for BUBBLE TRIP. This single is also the first of the year from Anna that isn’t released under the name ANNA TSUCHIYA inspi' NANA (BLACK STONES).

The title track, BUBBLE TRIP, is a blend of R&B and rock with a heavy a dance beat influence. The song is peppy and easy to listen to with lyrics entirely in English. Anna’s vocals are rather synthesized and the song itself seems weak; it does not inspire much energy or emotion. BUBBLE TRIP shows a lot of Western influence: produced by KNS productions, a company that has worked with Britney Spears in the past, it has all the cheer of teen pop but not much more.

The second A-side track, Sweet Sweet Song, is indeed a song after its own name. Lighthearted and carefree, Anna’s voice is much more natural and gives a better example of her range. Overall, the song has almost an acoustic feel. It’s a simple song that invokes images of daydreams and happiness with its childlike, whimsical style and is probably the better of the two songs on the single.

Both versions of the single also includes a remix of BUBBLE TRIP called BUBBLE TRIP –STUDIO APARTMENT remix –.
