Psycho le Cému concluded their THE WORLD tour on October 8th at Tokyo’s Toyosu PIT. The band played 13 shows nationwide prior to the finale, each of which featured a different concept randomly selected from KARAKURI WORLD, MYSTERY WORLD, and PARALLEL WORLD. For the finale, titled TOYOSU XXX WORLD, these three worlds finally became one.

Blue stage light illuminated a big timepiece and gears on the stage. The theme of THE WORLD was unveiled as the show started out with the band’s signature short play style. The story is about the journey of the characters from three worlds who strayed into a different dimension called THE WORLD. The narration introduced the band members one by one. Drummer YURA-SAMA appeared as Prince the Phantom Thief from MYSTERY WORLD. Guitarists AYA and Lida as Oiran and Buddha respectively from KARAKURI WORLD then entered the stage. Finally, bassist seek as Punk Monster and vocalist DAISHI as Parallel Traveller from PARALLEL WORLD made their way onstage.

The band took their positions as the narration of “Welcome to THE WORLD!” filled the venue. First song Gekiai Merry-Go-Round made an exciting start of the show. DAISHI thrilled the fans with his passionate vocals while AYA and YURA-SAMA livened up the song as back-up dancers. The crowd enjoyed dancing together with them while Lida played catchy yet powerful guitar riffs. The band’s unique performance style continued to entertain their fans during the next song AREA, they wowed the crowd with twin vocal style featuring DAISHI and YURA-SAMA. “Let’s dance together!” YURA-SAMA, who is actually an officially certified aerobics instructor, invited fans to a group exercise, “Now repeat after me! YURA-SAMA! You are looking good! YURA-SAMA! Your singing got better!” The smiling instructor enjoyed a call and response with fans during this danceable rock song.

The band revealed their musical skills as a rock band during the fourth song Ginrou. Fans head-banged to aggressive guitar riffs and relentless drum beats. seek also provoked fans to shout and fist pump with his deep voice. Later, the show got emotional as the band conveyed their message to fans during Kiseki wo shiru bokura wa gosenfu ni saku kibou wo utau. The song began with the lyric referring to the last show before the band went into a hiatus on May, 2006. However, DAISHI’s heartfelt vocals embraced fans with a sense of healing and an anticipation for a bright future as the song progressed.

Later, the show featured another short play. The party of five discovered that they had to gather ten remaining members from each world in order to get out of THE WORLD. Just as this impossible stipulation discouraged the party, a miracle happened. Ten remaining characters from each world, played by extra cast members, appeared on the stage which made quite a sight for the fans when all fifteen characters finally got together. Having met the stipulation, the fifteen characters swiftly went in to the next move. Applause immediately filled the venue as BLADE DANCE began to play. The band members each took a vocal part in turn. Lida smashed a powerful rap while the ten extra characters danced behind him. The performance of the band’s new dance number by the whole cast of characters set the floor alight.

During the following number Fantastic Fantasy, fans held towels up high and waved their arms following the band’s lead in order to make a spectacular Mexican wave. At the end of the show, the band surprised fans with a special presentation of their classic Murder Death Kill by each taking a vocal part in turn.

The encore started with the conclusion of the play in which a deity Kronos gave his providence to all the characters that they would find true happiness if they continued to treasure their lives with fans. After the play, Akiramenai DAYS started a celebration as all the characters and fans sang and danced together. A festive mood also filled the venue during the next song, Ooedo tabigarasu. Big balloons were thrown from the stage, and the fans had a fun time tossing them around all over the floor.

DAISHI spoke to fans before the last song, REMEMBRANCE. “I was preoccupied with thinking about my future goal back in my youthful days and was not really able to fully embrace a present moment. But today, I really enjoy this time with you guys now. Let’s continue to live together so that one day we would have a live show in Nippon Budokan.” Fans witnessed the symbolic scene of four front men gathering around the drum set like they did during the last performance of the song a decade ago. “You guys are the best! I love you all!” DAISHI shouted at the end. seek also responded by repeatedly hitting his own chest.

seek shared his emotions after the last song. “We took a hiatus after our show in Nakano Sunplaza in May, 2006. I shed tears and I could barely see you guys’ faces on that day. Normally, only four of us gathered on the stage during REMEMBRANCE after that day. But tonight, five of us got together around the drum set like we did before. Tonight, all of us were full of smiles. I believe we were able to create a new precious memory. Nothing is actually decided regarding our show in Nippon Budoukan, but we are one step away. Let’s make the dream come true together,” the bassist said. As a closure to the show, the band took group photos with the extra cast members and fans.
