D.I.D. was formed in 2012 by ex-Para:noir trio Akane, Sho, Satoshi plus newcomers Tohma and Takashi. The band's name is based on the expression “until the day I die”.

The first mini-album until the Day I Die was released on July 6th, 2012. The band then performed at several big events like J-ROCK EXPLOSION PRESENTS 2012 Kareinaru Gekijou -Splendid Violent Emotion Vol. 3- and stylish wave CIRCUIT '12 Natsu no Jin. Later, D.I.D. set off on their first tour Splendid Violent Emotion 2012 together with ALSDEAD and DIV. Their first one-man live the Eye of Providence was held on November 23rd.

That same month the band released their debut full-length album Providentia. Unfortunately, drummer Takashi had to leave D.I.D. due to health problems shortly thereafter. He was replaced by support drummer Issei, who was only inducted as an an official member in September 2013.

In February 2013, D.I.D. participated in ViSULOG PRESENTS “HYSTERIC CIRCUS” vol.2 where they performed alongside Black Gene For the Next Scene and Sel'm. In March, D.I.D. held their second one-man live the Point of No Return and released a single with the same title a month later. During their shows in May, fans were able to buy the single THE NATURAL BORN SINNER. Later that month, the band took part in the "BLACK:ID" tour, performing with Black Gene For the Next Scene, 12012, Cell and Lycaon amongst others.

In October, D.I.D. released the single Paranoid Personality and held their first one-man tour, playing four lives in Nagoya, Osaka, Fukuoka and Tokyo. In November, fans were shocked by the news of guitarist Satoshi's sudden exit from the band due to family reasons.

For some time, there was no news from the members until February 2014, when a countdown started on their official site. It was a sign to fans that the band was working on something special. In April, the countdown reached zero and the official site reopened. It was revealed that the new single Fatal Error Race would be released in June.

It seemed that D.I.D. had finally recovered, but the fans had to wait a little longer. In May, vocalist Akane was hospitalized after being diagnosed with schizophrenia. The release of Fatal Error Race was thus postponed, but the band performed throughout the summer of 2014 without Akane. The end of August brought good news when the return of Akane was announced.

Following his recovery, the vocalist posted a personal letter on his official blog, with fan translations being available there too. On October 5th a very important event was held, called Akane (Re)birthday ONEMAN Gott ist “DA”. It marked the comeback of D.I.D.'s frontman Akane. It was also announced that the previously postponed single Fatal Error Race would soon be released.

Despite the obstacles the band has faced D.I.D. continues to endure, delighting fans again and again.
