Wagakki Band was created in late 2013, when the octet debuted under the name Suzuhana Yuko with Wagakki Band at the 10th Tokyo International Music Market (TIMM) on October 23rd 2013.

The members first came into contact through their activities on streaming platform Niconico. The eight members are vocalist Suzuhana Yuko, kotoist Ibukuro Kiyoshi, shakuhachist Kaminaga Daisuke, shamisenist Ninagawa Beni, wadaiko player Kurona, guitarist Machiya, bassist Asa and drummer Wasabi.

Wagakki Band held their first one-man live on January 31st, 2014. Afterwards, the band focused on the creation of their first full-length album. VOCALO Zanmai came out on April 23rd, featuring a cover of the GACKT classic Episode 0, and debuted at #5 on the Oricon Weekly. A special instore release event followed in May.

Soon thereafter, Wagakki Band announced its participation at the 15th edition of Japan Expo in Paris, France on July 5th. This gave the band the opportunity to expand its foreign fanbase. Back in their home country, they worked on their first single Hanabi - the band's first original composition - and prepared their next two one-man shows.

In October, the band once again travelled overseas, this time visiting Singapore for the Avex-organized a-nation singapore Premium Showcase on October 18th. Furthermore, Wagakki Band plans to release its first live DVD and Blu-ray for November 26th.

We're very curious to see what the band will do next, and when they will release a full-length album of original material.
