DIAURA came to life when vocalist yo-ka and guitarist Kei’s previous band, Valluna, disbanded. In the beginning they were accompanied by supporting bassist Shoya. Although the band formed in December 2010, they did not start their activities until the next year. On January 17th they released their first demo CD, Shitsu tsubasa no seiiki, which was limited to 444 copies. Soon after, on January 28th the band started their first tour, which lasted until February 29th. During this tour their first single, Beautiful Creatures, hit the stores on February 3rd, limited to 500 copies. On March 12th the band held a sponsored event, Beautiful Creature’s Show, at Shibuya BOXX to promote this release. A few weeks later, Shoya joined the band as an official member as bassist.
Summer 2011 was busy for this newly formed band. Since DIAURA then joined music label GALAXY Inc., they re-released their first single. Subsequently, the second press of Beautiful Creature was out on June 15th. The next month they released their first mini-album, DICTATOR, and also shot their first PV for another song included on their demo single, Shitsu tsubasa no seiiki. To celebrate this release, the band held some sponsored events and finally gave a one-man concert, doku-DICTATOR-sai, which took place on August 30th at Sibuya BOXX; footage from this live was released on DVD on November 30th. Also, with this live, drummer Yuu officially joined the band. Seemingly unstoppable, the band released another single, Imperial"CORE", on November 2nd.
With this quick pace of releasing new material, the release of the first album on March 21st wasn’t a surprise. GENESIS contained eleven songs and the band’s second PV. In May the band gave two free lives in Osaka and Nagoya to attract a wider audience; however, those lives were performed without drummer Yuu, who suffered from health problems. The next month they released another single, Reason for Treason, which was distributed exclusively at Takadanobaba AREA. Another though larger one-man, Judgment Day, took place on August 28th at Ebisu LIQUID ROOM. During this event every attendant received a CD with the band’s new song, Judgment. Unfortunately, on October 10th Yuu left the band because his health condition was getting worse. He was replaced by Tatsuya, who joined the band as an official member on April 1st, 2013.
As for further activities in 2012, DIAURA released a new single, Evils, on October 24th. It contains a PV for the mentioned song, Reason for Treason. Also, the Judgment Day live was released on November 14th on DVD. The band also held a tour, titled deadly"9"circuit, which started on November 17th and finished on December 9th. The two-day final of the tour took place on the 26th and 27th of January 2013.
2013 is full of new releases. The single Whiteness hit the stores on February 20, and the next month saw the release of mini-album REBORN. Then the band announced that the singles SIRIUS/Lily and Shitsuyoku no seiiki will be released in July and August, respectively.
