Rose Noire was founded in 2007 while Louie and Jill were students at the Tokyo National University Fine Arts and Music. The siblings took their first steps as a musical duo in 2007, submitting their demo to the SONY-ZOOM DEMO tape competition. They won the ZOOM award, which marked the start of their musical activities. Soon after, they released their first single, Bouquet de Roses.

In 2010, Rose Noire joined the label Darkest Labyrinth, owned by BLOOD guitarist Kiwamu. They appeared on the compilation Darkest Labyrinth Vol.2, and on December 1st released their debut studio album, APOCALYPSE.

2011 brought exciting new opportunities for the band, when they were approached by the American organisation Tainted Reality about performing in the United States. In March that year, they made their live overseas debut at the anime convention Zenkaicon, which was followed by a small number of additional events. A few months later, they released the mini-album Le paradis de la Psychose. Another mini-album, Neo Renaissance-2nd movement-, followed in 2012.

In December 2013, Rose Noire’s first album was reissued under the name APOCALYPSE-the Resurrection of Notes-. This version of the album featured two new tracks: FEED and APOCALYPSE.

The duo’s first PV compilation DEF Brilliant Arts Collection was released in February 2014: limited to just 100 copies, it quickly sold out. Since then, Rose Noire have continued to work on spreading their music around the world, appearing at J’fest in Mexico before heading to Canada to perform at Otafest in Edmonton and Anime North in Toronto. July brought news that Jill had joined the band Hollow Mellow, which is fronted by Iruma Rioka.
