BAKUBENI made their debut as a band on 25th December 2005. The group had to overcome several difficulties from the start, including continuous changes of the band’s line up. Until the following year, he group had no permanent members. This changed with the 2006 lineup of vocalist RAYLA, bass player AOI, guitarist IZUMI and drummer KOZAKEN. The group performed extensively through the year. In October, a new bass player, BOIN (Thunder), took the place of AOI.

BAKUBENI started 2007 with their first release, mini-album Rocker, which reached second place on the Shibuya Tower Records Indies Charts. The title song has been used in the "Night Music” program on TV Tokyo.

BAKUBENI worked through the whole summer on increasing their popularity, appearing on Early Tokyo FM radio and giving interviews to several magazines until their first one-man live in Yokohama. In June new guitarist Taiga joined the group. BAKUBENI, with the new line up, released a maxi-single Buchikamath!!!, which scored the fifth place in the Shinjuku Tower Charts and 20th on Oricon Charts.

On 30th July 2008, the group released their first album BAKUBENI which placed 14th on the Oricon Charts. By fall, the band toured the USA with another band, quaff. Amongst other cities, they performed in Baltimore and New York. After their return to Japan in October, Ryuhei became the band’s new bass player.

At the begining of 2009 the band performed a lot, starting with the concert in QUATROS club in Shibuya on 9th January. Unfortunately, the summer was unlucky for BAKUBENI. Two members left the band: Taiga in June and Ryuhei in July. The lack of a bassist was troublesome for the band until October, when Junichi joined, performing together with the rest of the group from November onward.

The year closed with their performance during OUTBREAK on New Year’s Eve right before the final countdown. Despite so many changes in the line up, BAKUBENI managed to release a mini-album ALART and their first live DVD BAKUBENI America e iku in 2009.

After a few performances with only four members, the band found a new guitarist, KTZ. However, band activities became very limited in April because their vocalist RAYLA started her solo career. Still, BAKUBENI continues performing as themselves as well as BAKUDUNG when they collaborate with RAYLA's musicians from her solo career.

In spite of the vocalist’s involvement in two groups, all fans hope for new releases from this punk band.
