LiZ formed in 2005 with vocalist Rei, guitarists Yuu and Kai, bassist Vict and Ryou on drums. While Kai began as a support guitarist, he joined the band officially in July of 2006.

The group started their live activities with secret shows in June of 2005, and began official lives in September in Tokyo venues like Meguro Rockmaykan and Takadanobaba AREA. They sponsored their first live event in July of 2006, LiZ Display~impulse L∞P~, which was also the band’s one year anniversary celebration.

Their first maxi-single, RED-CHAIN, was released in December and was limited to 500 copies. They were able to release twice as many copies for the second maxi-single, L∞P XIII, which came out in May of 2007. By that time, they had had their first one-man live in January of 2007, and they had gone on a tour of the Tokyo, Nagoya and Osaka circuit, broadening their exposure significantly.

L∞P XIII was the first of a three consecutive month release campaign. The next two releases in June and July, were the maxi-single IXION and the group’s first mini-album L-subliminal. A couple of weeks before the release of the mini-album, they held a one-man, Impulse Liberation~BAKKOSHI IKO-ZE~, where the CD was made available before its official release. That summer, they also held a three-man live with PureQ&A and Saruin. LiZ finished out 2007 with another maxi-single in November called Screaming Out Loud.

2008 saw a two consecutive month release campaign with maxi-singles RUIKA? and Manatsu no yo no yume in June and July, respectively. They continued a densely packed live schedule, including participation in events for vistlip, tarrot , Ap(r)il and VanessA. That summer, they held another one-man live called Impulse Dedication ~, and in October they were included in the omnibus DVD Bands Shock DVD Vol.6.

An important moment in recognizing the group's talent came that fall when Liz was featured on J-Visual[ism], an omnibus album from the German label CLJ Records, signalling the band's rise in popularity overseas.

In February of 2009, the group held another one-man live, Impulse rebellion~Surviver from the Radioactive Fallout~, and a week later their maxi-single RAZOR was released. The following month, they sponsored a two day event, volumes 12 and 13 of their series LiZ Display~Impulse L∞P. This summer they are participating in SPEED DISK's Shinrabanshou tour. The future looks bright for LiZ and we hope to hear more from them soon.
