N.U.T. is a collaboration between the duo called N.U. and the solo artist TAKUMA. N.U. consists of Shinya Uda and Koichiro Niwase, who have worked together since 2002. TAKUMA, on the other hand, rose to fame as the bassist-vocalist of wyse, and after the group disbanded in 2005 he went solo and played a softer style of rock. In N.U.T., all three sing and play guitar.

N.U.T. made their actual debut in June 2007, but their history actually dates back to February, when the members met for the first time at an acoustic rock event. After getting to know each other, the musicians made guest appearances at several gigs starting from June 24 at the Shibuya La.ma.ma, where N.U.T. performed for the first time. The project was not too serious, as displayed by the very relaxed atmosphere of their concerts - but something in the songs managed to catch the audience's attention, and the heartfelt emotional rock sound had enchanted the listeners.

The band made its big return during June and July of 2008 as the group announced their tour N.U.T. in the World. At the same time, N.U.T. released their music on a single called HEART ROCK, which included a song composed by each member. For their single, the trio did not need to hire session musicians; TAKUMA recorded both the bass and piano parts and also programmed and mixed the songs.

While both N.U. and TAKUMA are currently busy with their own projects and have not released anything new since HEART ROCK, hopefully we'll hear from this line-up again in the future.
