Selia took an interest in classical music from an early age. As his parents took him with them to church, he became enthralled by the Christian hymns and music he heard and started to listen to classical music.

As a boy, his voice was high-pitched, but once he hit puberty the pitch, of course, lowered. Selia disliked the new sound his vocal chords were producing and started to strain himself to sing in falsetto. His efforts paid off and after a while he had grown accustomed to it. After seeing a performance of a famous Japanese countertenor on television, Selia decided that he really liked the vocal style and continued to sing as a countertenor.

Wanting to pursue a professional music career, he put forth a lot of effort and started to study music by attending a music school and studying classical songs, such as songs by his favourite Italian and English composers. Selia was also seen performing operas on Japanese stages.

Next to classical music, Selia also liked the gothic music scene. Upon meeting DJ SiSeN, the DJ invited him to sing at an event and, after that, his activities in the electro/gothic scene started to increase. He performed at various events and stunned audiences with his voice and elegant appearance. He formed a unit with the aforementioned DJ SiSeN, another unit with a DJ from Texas, USA and also became part of the infamous Tokyo Decadance crew, which gave him the chance to perform in Europe several times.

Next to these activities, Selia has also collaborated with a number of other bands, amongst them the legendary gothic rock band AUTO-MOD for which he sings the backing vocals. Through the vocalist of AUTO-MOD, Selia was introduced to the drummer of BUCK-TICK and was asked to participate on the recording of BUCK-TICK's album Tenshi no Revolver, which was released in September 2007.

In 2009, his project with DJ SiSeN started to take on a more definite shape and they renamed themselves to Seileen. Together, they performed both in Japan and the United States and have released two mini-albums.

So far, although Selia has no releases in his own right, he has plans for a CD release. We're sure that this talented and unique artist isn't done surprising us yet, so be sure to keep an eye on Selia!
