Formed in 2003, SKULL began live activities in earnest in 2004. The next year they went on their first tour, Shougai kichigai, and released their first maxi-single, Jisaku Jien, signaling their entrance into the Japanese music scene.

In 2006, they focused their energies on live performances throughout the country, but the following year they started releasing again and have been building momentum ever since. Busy with a coupling tour with BRANCH in February, and a solo tour that spring called second effect, by June they released their first maxi-single and DVD combination, The Scream of Gate, remixed and remastered. During that time they were busy with their TOUR the Scream of Gate tour, but only two months later their first mini-album, Ugly Black Showcase, was released, contributing to the growth of the band's popularity. That year SKULL was on two compilation CDs and in over one hundred live performances.

The band kicked off 2008 with their solo live Kuroi boudou and at their performance on March 21st, they distributed copies of their new live-only single, BULLET. In May they had their oneman tour IV BULLET'S and in August a coupling tour with -OZ-. The next month SKULL lost their bassist after their oneman THE LAST BULLET'S on September 15.

Despite losing Sakura the band's activities continued and two new members joined the ranks in February 2009: bassist Ryou and guitarist Kouta. In their upcoming two singles Awake and SKIN, to be released in May and July, fans will be able to hear the music of the new quintet.
