SEAMO was born in Nagoya in December, 1975 as Takada Naoki. After graduating from the Meijo University Senior High School, SEAMO attended Aichi Gakuin University and received a degree in the Department of Buddhist and Religious Studies.

In 2004, Takada Naoki began performing under the alias of Sea-mo nator (a pun on the world famous film Terminator). It was during this time that Sea-mo nator collaborated with the female hip-hop duo BENNIE K on Tenku vs. Benkai, a track featured on their first mini-album. Perhaps most notably, it was Sea-mo nator's performance on POPJAM that gained him some public recognition.

However, with the coming of his debut nearly a year later, BMG Japan suggested that Sea-mo nator change his alias to that of SEAMO. With the release of his debut single Kanpaku, SEAMO, despite achieving a disappointing chart position, continued to persevere. With the release of his second single four months later, SEAMO’s career seemed set to remain around the middle of the charts.

a love story, SEAMO's third single, happened to be his saving grace. With the single featuring the dynamic duo BENNIE K, SEAMO saw his latest effort shoot up the charts to hold a place at #14. Unfortunately, his debut album released two weeks after this single faired to do as well.

After his album debut, SEAMO took a break of six months and returned in 2006 with the single Mata aimashou. Reaching the #14 position on the Oricon like his previous single, this effort saw prolonged popularity following SEAMO's performance at the Kouhaku Uta Gassen in 2007. Reportedly, this single has sold 201,610 copies altogether and has earned SEAMO the position of being the 59th highest selling single of 2006.

Following the success of Mata aimashou, SEAMO's fifth single, a cover of the first opening theme of the anime Lupin the 3rd's second season, bought the artist his first Top 10 position at #9. Totaling sales of 99,205, this became SEAMO's second highest selling single of 2006, reaching the #100 position.

SEAMO's second album, Live Goes On, reached the #1 position in its first week of sales. Released two months after the success of his fifth single, the album featured artists such as AZU and KURO of HOME MADE KAZOKU. With sales reported at 293,689 copies, the album became the #43 highest selling album of 2006.

SEAMO's first single of 2007, Cry Baby, was used as the theme for the movie Crayon Shin-chan arashi wo yobu utau ketsu dake bakudan!. Notably, this single was SEAMO's first to be sold in three versions, the cover featuring artwork of Shin-chan containing only one song. This single also features a track with a reference to another anime popular both in and out of Japan: Fist of the North Star.

SEAMO's latest album, Round About, finished its first week of sales at #2 on the Oricon. Following in the footsteps of Live Goes On, the new album featured many popular artists in Japan's Hip-Hop/R'n'B industry. With such artists as BoA, HOME MADE KAZOKU, Shuriken Jet and mihimaru GT on it, the album was a true recognition of just how popular SEAMO had become in a matter of years.

As of Spring 2008, SEAMO has announced via his official website, the upcoming release of his debut DVD, two singles and his latest mini-album.

With SEAMO's popularity reaching new heights with every single or album that he releases, one can only imagine what this aspiring artist has yet to offer!
