Kimeru (real name unknown) was born in 1980 on Kyushu, the southernmost of the four main islands of Japan.
Like any other Japanese boy, he went to school and got a job once he graduated from high school. It wasn't as a singer as one may expect, but as a mailman!
Fortunately, he didn’t pursue this ‘career’ and decided to become a professional singer, choosing the stage name Kimeru, which means ‘to decide’ in Japanese.

In December 2001, he released his first single called You got game?. The song was used as the first ending song for the anime Prince of Tennis. His second single, which was released about a year later, was used as an ending song for this anime as well.

In 2003, he got a role in the musical version of Prince of Tennis, which increased his popularity, leading to the release of the mini-album The Beginning later that year. It was his big break in the music world and from then on his releases came more frequently.

Kimeru toured for the first time during the spring of 2004. The tour was called OVERLAP, named after his newest single at the time and, even though it consisted of only three dates, it was an important happening because it proved he was able to perform like a professional artist as well.

During the next year, Kimeru signed with the Nippon Crown label (which is the label his idol Gackt is signed to). His first release on it was his sixth single, Answer will come. He continued to tour and released some more singles, leading to his first album in December 2005: glorious. Naturally, a tour to promote the album followed and a DVD with concert footage was released about half a year later.

Since then, it seems things have only gotten better for Kimeru. He has appeared various times on radio shows (even had his own show for a while), released more singles, toured again and even performed in China.

Kimeru seems to be unstoppable and we’re curious about his plans for the future. We can already be sure about one thing: it will be very successful!
