After The Yellow Monkey went on hiatus, Yoshii Lovinson slowly started his solo career. He began working on songs for an album in 2001, working with several American musicians, but it wasn't until 2003 when he made his solo debut with the single TALI.

Starting off strong in 2004, Yoshii released his second single and a month later released his first full-length solo album, at the BLACK HOLE. At the end of the year, Hideaki "Emma" Kikuchi, the former guitarist of The Yellow Monkey, joined Yoshii as his support guitarist.

Just like the previous year, 2005 began with the releases early in the year with another single and his second full-length album, WHITE ROOM. In June 2005 he kicked off his second album’s commemorative tour, “AT the WHITE ROOM”, all across Japan. From that tour, he released his first DVD, STILL ALIVE -YOSHII LOVINSON TOUR 2005 AT the WHITE ROOM. Performing at the “Dream Power John Lennon Super Live 2005” on October 7th, it was the last night Yoshii performed under the name “Yoshii Lovinson”.

The next few months after the live, he went into recording and started a new tour, for the first time, under his real name Yoshii Kazuya. Throughout 2006 he continued recording and released WEEKENDER and BELIEVE, two singles that were both only available online and extremely limited. In May he contributed to the Nirvana tribute album, ALL APOLOGIES.

In 2007, he released the single WINNER, which was used as the theme song for the movie GOAL!2. Yoshii Kazuya is continuing strong with a couple singles that will be released in the mid part of 2007.
