BUG

BUG was created in the autumn of 2001 by three veterans on the Japanese music scene: vocalist Kyo (D'ERLANGER), guitarist Shin (ex-DIE IN CRIES), and drummer Furuton (ex-OBLIVION DUST). The same year, they took part in the Sugar-less event in Shibuya and released their first CD, New World. Shortly after that, in early 2002, they were joined by bassist TAKASHI (ex-DIE IN CRIES).

The year went mostly well for the band as they toured and released their first album, BUGMANIA. Unfortunately, a few months after its release, Shin left the group; he was then replaced by guitarist Asaki. The band continued to tour and took part in the first DANGER CRUE PRESENTS 【Tenka-DANGER-】 annual festival alongside bands such as 44MAGNUM and MUCC.

The next year brought even more time on the road in addition to a second album, BZM#0021. Just like the previous year, however, BUG lost a member: this time in the form of drummer Furuton. Originally playing just as a support musician, Takeshi later became the fourth member of BUG's current line-up.

In 2004 they held two tours SEX ON THE FLOOR tour and and ICECREAM SUMMER between the release of their album IMPOSSIBLE IS NOTHING. Over the next two years the band continued to add to their discography, touring extensively throughout Japan.

In July of 2007, they released the highly anticipated best-of album BUGKILLER, soon after embarking on their Kinjirareta Shikisai tour. Two months later, BUG dropped their new album, FORBIDDEN COLOURS. It was also during this year that D’ERLANGER reunited, and the group, once again fronted by vocalist Kyo began activities.

Over the next two years, BUG kept their live schedules packed, and ceased recording after the debut of their album Angel's Trumpet in November 2008, focusing on performances. While the group released a live-DVD in 2009, it wasn't until the following year that their discography accrued new items, with red rip xtc debuting in stores in April.

After a busy schedule in 2010, BUG is taking a month off and resuming activities at the end of January, with their 2011 tour Dancing With Myself. They currently have dates scheduled through the summer.
