The band Presence of soul is led by the singer and songwriter Yuki, who also plays guitar, piano and mellotron. Yuki began to search for various members to form her band and made diverse changes, even working shortly as a solo artist. Eventually guitarist Yoshi joined her, adding his music line to Yuki's voice.

In January 2005 the duo Presence of soul formed officially and also launched their official website. Shortly after in March, the duo released their first maxi-single, Fade out which was followed by their first album, cause and effect in May.

In September 2006, bassist hussy joined the band, which embarked on their first mini-tour in Sapporo. In 2007 the project "Eternal Circle" followed, which was a series of six consecutive single releases. This year was marked by the loss of hussy, who left the band in July, but also marked the joining of a drummer, Mitsugu. The unit began to gain recognition and was invited to appear as guest on a web radio program and on the web TV BBBC.

It wasn't until 2000 that things began to move faster. Masamune, who was their session bassist after hussy's departure, became an official member in January. On the 14th of January, Presence of soul was invited to play the first part for the show in Daikanayama UNIT for the Swedish band, ANEKDOTEN. This transit on stage allowed the quartet to gain popularity. They played more than twenty shows throughout the year.

In summer 2008, Blinds, a surprising and mature album, was released. This paved the way for the band overseas as the group released the album in Europe on the French rock progressive label MUSEA RECORDS and distributed it in twelve countries throughout Europe and in America. The band began to use all their resources to make them accessible to the world with an English version of their website and the availability of their music through the iTunes store.

In July 2009, the unit headed to Taipei, Taiwan to promote the Taiwanese version of Blinds, released through U LOUD MUSIC'S records with a live. In September, the Belgian record label Higashi Music added Blinds to their catalogue. Currently, the band is preparing a tour in France and Belgium for 2010.
