Tsunku, the big boss of Hello!Project and manager of Morning Musume decided in September 2002 to form a group to promote the solo-career of Goto Maki some more, who had recently left Morning Musume and was only focussing on her solo-career now.

Next to Goto Maki, he had Matsuura Aya join, who was a well-known solo artist already. Tsunku thought that because of Matsuura Aya’s fame, the group was bound to be successful as well. The third member of the group became Fujimoto Miki, who was quite new to the hello!project family. This was, of course, a great way to introduce her.

Their first and only single, Shall we Love, was released in November. A VHS and DVD, containing the music video of the song followed in December. The single became pretty popular and Tsunku was sure the girls would be able to make it on their own, so Gomattou was put on an indefinite hiatus.

Later, the three girls each released their own version of the song on respective albums.

In the end, Goto Maki continued her solo-career, being quite successful and was also in several other hello!project groups. As for Fujimoto Miki, she joined Morning Musume in 2003, but had to leave in 2007. She is currently working on her solo-career. Matsuura Aya simply continued what she was doing: her solo career. She occasionally is a part of another hello!project group.
