Syndrome

Bassist Kisaki (formerly of La:Sadie's and currently in his 'final band', Phantasmagoria) founded Syndrome in early January of the year 2000. The original line-up consisted of Tatsuya on vocals, both Ruiza and ken on guitar, Kisaki himself naturally on bass, and Shion on drums (he later changed his name to Takuma).

Like most young bands, their first release was a free single titled Usagi to hitsuiji. This was released on March 31st and ten days later they held their first live at the Shibuya On Air West, which was later followed that same month by two free one-man concerts. Their first 'real' one-man was not held however until June 14th, during which they distributed the demo tape Destruction of SEXUAL. By the end of their first year together, they'd also participated in the 'Spark up' event at the hide Museum along with other bands such as Psycho le Cému and released their first mini-album, Fiction.

As they went into 2001, they continued touring and releasing, including their first VHS tape, Threat of Promise. In April, however, both Tatsuya and Ken decided to leave the band after the summer. Despite this loss, the band remained together, but did take a short hiatus until guitarist Sin and vocalist Asagi joined the group. Their first concert with the new line-up was on August 28th at the On Air Osaka.

The next year, Syndrome released their best-known work, the mini-album CORE. This was followed by more touring and events which is perhaps why the news at the end of the year that Syndrome was to disband came as such a surprise to their fans. Syndrome's label, Matina, which was also run by Kisaki, was also to dissolve. The band's last live was held on November 18th, 2002.

As for life after Syndrome, Kisaki first started the Kisaki Project, in which he collaborated with various artists, before moving onto Phantasmagoria, his final band. He has said recently that he will be retiring from the stage but his new label, UnderCode Productions, appears to live on. Asagi, Sin, and Ruiza started a new visual-kei band, D, while Shion/Takuma went on to work in Shelly Trip Realize. Tatsuya, the original vocalist of Syndrome, joined Buzz strip youth and guitarist Ken has since changed his name to kenichi and can now be found in the major-label band Merry.

On July 4th of 2007, Syndrome will also be releasing a two-disc 'best-of' titled simply BEST COLLECTION 2000-2002.
