In 1999, a band called Λucifer was started by musicians using the names of characters from the "Kaikan Phrase" anime. In August of that same year, they had their debut event called Λucifer -prologue-, which consisted of two concerts: one in Osaka and one in Tokyo.
Barely a month after their debut, they released their first single called Datenshi blue. It sold well, and reached a rank of 16th on the Oricon charts. This single was also the first single for the fictional band in the anime "Kaikan Phrase", and in the story it helped the fictional band to get a record-deal.
In November they released their second single, C no Binetsu which was the 2nd opening song to "Kaikan Phrase."
Unstoppable from the start, they released their first album Limit control in December. It did well on the Oricon charts, reaching #6. Soon after, they had their first tour, which consisted of six concerts that took place in various prefectures across the country.
In the following year they released four new singles and their first video, Vision file - One ~Film~ Escape, containing PVs. They performed not only at many venues but also on a large number of TV shows. 2001 continued in this vein, and the band’s popularity continued to grow.
In 2002 they expanded their live activities to other Asian countries, such as Hong Kong. Unfortunately, in September Λucifer announced that they had decided to disband, citing musical differences.
Despite their announcement, the group did not disband immediately, and they released their last, best-of album called The Best on December 5th. By then, they had released a total of nine singles, four albums and three DVDs.
A few weeks later in December they embarked on the Last Tour 2002-2003 Energy. The final show took place on January 10th and was officially the date on which they would disband. On January 19th they performed their final concert in Bangkok, Thailand.
Yuki went on to form the band DUSTAR-3, with two ex-members of the SEX MACHINEGUNS. Towa joined the band Birth of Life, in which he used his own name, Taguchi Tomonori.
