    Acid Black Cherry will release their second full-length album, currently untitled, on August 26th. The album will feature their latest singles - 20+∞Century Boys, Jigsaw, Nemuri hime and the upcoming Yasashii uso, set to go on sale on July 29th. Like their first album BLACK LIST, it will be available in three versions, each with a different jacket cover.

    The regular edition of the album will come with the CD only, plus a 42-page booklet, while the other two versions will come with a DVD. The first one will include the music videos for all four singles, as well as alternate versions, plus off-shot footage and also an interview with yasu. The other version will feature footage from Acid Black Cherry's concert held at LIQUIDROOM ebisu on March 4th with a total of nine tracks, plus footage from the album's creation with narration by Hiroaki Asai over 70 minutes.

    ART-SCHOOL announced the launch of a contest in collaboration with MySpace and STUDIO VOICE ONLINE, giving their fans the opportunity to create the music video for the song 14souls from their upcoming album 14SOULS, set to go on sale on August 5th.

    The contestants will have to edit and post their videos on the contest's MySpace page. The closing date for the competition is July 24th, and the entires will be judged by the band's members and Noboru Iguchi, director of the movie "Robo Geisha", which will feature LOST CONTROL, another song from the 14SOULS, on its official soundtrack. The winner will receive 100,000 yen in cash and also will have the chance to see their own video used as the song's official PV.

    After recently losing their guitarist Naoto, DEATHGAZE have now announced the release of a new album for September 9th. THE CONTINUATION will consist of a compilation disc featuring re-recorded versions of older songs with Ai on vocals, including the well-known Yami ni ame fukaishita sekai and Dies Irae, plus the recent singles insult kiss me, DEAREST and also a piano version of amends.

    The next day, on September 10th, the band will embark on a short one-man tour around Osaka, Nagoya and Tokyo. Titled UNITE THE BLOOD, the tour will take place at Shibuya RUIDO K2 on the 10th, OSAKA RUIDO on the 17th, and lastly Nagoya ell.SIZE on the 25th.

The ideal candidate will have an interest in multiple music genres (especially J-pop and visual kei), have basic Japanese comprehension and be a motivated writer who can complete a minimum of four files a month which will consist of research, original writing and reworks.

    Reviews: We are looking for someone who listens to a variety of music and can write a minimum of two reviews a month. Be aware that you may be asked to review something for promotional purposes, so you won't always be able to write about bands you like. Please also send in a writing sample.

    Electro singer SAWA announced the release of her major debut mini-album for July 22nd. I Can Fly will feature five songs in total, including a cover of the club hit Sing It Back, released by MOLOKO in 1999. The disc will also include collaborations with well-known artists from the electro/house scene, such as Haioka (BREMEN), Sound Around, note native, Fukutomi Yukihiro and Ishii Masayuki (TICA/gabby & lopez). The limited edition will also come with a remix of Sing It Back in three versions: English, Japanese and instrumental.

    SAWA debuted in the independent scene with two mini-albums, COLORS and Time & Space, which were produced by Hanzawa Kaneshi (FreeTEMPO), Nakatsuka Takeshi and others, being well received by technopop and girl-pop fans.

Although the band have confirmed that they came to this conclusion due to members' circumstances, they have not revealed the exact reason behind this decisison.     To celebrate their 20th anniversary (titled LATE BLOOMER SERIES) and their upcoming concert at Nippon Budokan, the pillows announced the beginning of a worldwide cover contest under the name the pillows COPY BAND EVENT---“ROAD TO BUDOUKAN”---.

    Hosted by Avex Trax in colaboration with Bad Music Group and YouTube, the contestants will have to record a cover of one of the pillows' songs, upload it to YouTube and post it on this video using the Video Response tool. The Video Response option will be open to the public from June 16th to August 1st, the end date for all submissions. The winners of the contest will be invited to the pillows' concert at Nippon Budokan on September 16th, which will include a backstage visit to meet the band, and they will also have their video played in Budokan's lobby.

    The results will be revealed on September 3rd at 6:00PM. 100,000 yen will also be offered for the winners to help with the trip to Nippon Budokan, no matter where they are from. More information, in English, can be seen at the pillows official website.

    The name of this band was Baxtu, also written as Baxtsu.

    A new visual kei band, Ninjaman-Japan, has been formed, and seems to be a side project of Psycho le Cému's Lida, who is currently also involved in the project Dacco. The other members of the band are sarino (ex-TINC, Shelly Trip Realize, Aioria), Nono (ex-v[NEU]), AKI (ex-P*Route, GAM) and Metal, whose identity is still uncertain, though he appears to be quite well-known in the music scene due to several concert participations.     Less than a year after the release of their last album Prime Garden, doa have already announced the release of a new album for August 12th. Titled FRONTIER, the disc will feature 13 songs in total, including their latest single 365 no Diamond, which was released in January. All songs were composed and arranged by vocalist and bassist Akihito Tokunaga and lyrics were written by all three members.

    In addition, the same month, the trio will also embark on a new nationwide tour titled LIVE Tour 2009 FRONTIER. Consisting of 14 dates, it will kick off at Fukuoka DRUM-Be 1 on the 26th and will end at Zepp Osaka two months later, on October 25th.

    Having just released the single Utsushie on May 27th, singer Aragaki Yui is already planning the release of a new album for June 17th. hug, her second album, will include her most recent singles Make my day, Akai ito, piece, Utushie and more for a total of 13 tracks.

    The album will be distributed in three different versions: the limited type A will come with a booklet featuring an illustrated jacket and artworks, while the limited type B will come with a different booklet, plus a second disc including a capella versions for all 13 songs featured on the album. The regular version will come with another different booklet and also a DVD contaning six music videos and off-shot footage from the album recording.
