The Sakura Matsuri festival, a street festival celebrating Japanese culture, has announced some of its planned events for 2009, its 49th annual running. The street festival, which operates in the Washington D.C. and the surrounding area will take place on April 4, from 11 am to 6 pm.
Musical groups for this year's festival include pop singer Ai Kawashima, visual kei "ninja" group OTOKAGE, Okinawan fusion band HAPPYFUNSMILE, taiko groups TAIKOZA and Okinawa Taiko, taiko drummers Kaoru Watanabe and Kenny Endo, and many more performers, artists and presenters.
