MUCC are still often classified as a visual kei band, despite dramatically toning down their image after 2005. Their music is probably best described as hard rock, with occasional metal leanings, although they are not afraid to experiment with other genres as well. All four members contribute towards the development of the music, and they all, with the exception of YUKKE, have contributed lyrics.

In 2005, MUCC began performing in Europe and the Americas. They continue to tour overseas frequently, reaching more and more fans with each passing year.
