Known to their fans as S.O.A.P., SONS OF ALL PUSSYS has spent its short time in existence promoting and executing the typical rocker sound and image. During his hiatus from the band L’Arc~en~Ciel, guitarist ken teamed up with the former drummer of L’Arc~en~Ciel and ZIGZO, Sakura. Instead of choosing an equally well-known bassist, ken and Sakura came across Ein, a half-German, half-Japanese former fashion model. Together they formed SONS OF ALL PUSSYS under the independent Danger Crue Records label, currently known as Maverick.

Their first release on February 6, 2003, came in the form of the mini-album GRACE, which included five tracks. While there were slightly obvious influences from ken and Sakura’s other projects, S.O.A.P.’s uniquely raw sound soon became apparent to loyal fans of the individual members. The PV for the title song alone strayed from the often safe and subdued style of ken’s comfort zone while in L’Arc~en~Ciel. Brandishing a penis-shaped piñata, ken entertained his band mates who sat comfortably on individual toilets.

S.O.A.P.’s style isn’t limited to vulgarity. Toning down their sound for their second PV, Tsumi no Nagame, the band expressed their gentler, softer side. However, the band never strayed away from the rocker chic. The mini-albums gimme A guitar and high were full of rebellious and even slightly comical antics.

S.O.A.P. released their first single Paradise on July 7, 2004, followed by three live DVDs.

Although an official statement has never been made, the band as a whole, have been on hiatus for the past few years. ken has returned to L’Arc~en~Ciel after not one, but two hiatuses as well as produced singles for the band MUCC. His moderately successful solo career also keeps him busy. Sakura currently performs in his latest band Rayflower as well as plays support for Creature Creature. As for Ein, he stopped updating his blog on the official site in 2008 and his current status isn't widely known. Fans can only wait for the day these three join musical forces once more.
