Zy 51: Kra

interview - 06.10.2010 20:01

SONGS TO LEARN&LIVE.

Kra released the best album Twinkle star BEST 2006-2009 at the end of February, and are presently going on tour all over Japan. (Their tour final live will be held in Hibiya yagai daiongakudou on April third, and is called Yaonbirakidayo zenin shuugou!! Part 2.) They are still growing, but as we look back over their previous works, we are surprised (yet again) at the great extent of their music. In this interview, we asked each member to analyse the band in terms of their playing, lyrics and melodies.

As you released the best album Twinkle star BEST 2006-2009, you look back over your past often. What do you think now when you look at the songs of the album?

Yuhra: I had to practice our previous songs at home to release the best album because I forgot the phrases. Then I wondered how I played such difficult pieces.(smile) Before, I could play them easily because we did tours and I was familiar with them……. so it was a good chance to look over everything again. I thought I'd try new arrangements that I did not think of when the songs were created. Well, now we are in the middle of our tour, so we can check our arrangements by the audience’s reactions. I would be kind of shocked if I was told the previous ones were better... So we have to work hard.

How about you, Yasuno?

Yasuno: We put in songs we made around when we changed the way we recorded. And we changed our system….. Going into the ninth year of Kra, we have had many changes. Particularly over the past three years, we made many new discoveries.

So you felt your change everyday. How about Maiccho (Mai)?

Mai: It’s not because we released the best album, but I think I have done everything I can so far. So it makes me think about what I want to do next…….

So that must be quite difficult for you.

Mai: Well…..Yeah. I think I’m in a difficult phase…..

Are you all right? (smile)

Keiyu: I think he has raised his next hurdle. (laugh) I think he is aiming for something higher than before. I too am thinking the same as Mai. As I see the lyrics of each song, I remember “Ah, I wrote this when I was thinking about such and such at that time.”
