20th Century - Ore janakya, kimi janakya

The oldest members of V6's first single in eight years.

20th Century, a sub-group of V6 comprising of the three older members of the Johnny's group, is back after a few years of silence. Their last single was Precious Love, back in 2000. While Precious Love was a slow R&B track, this single is very different.

Ore ja nakya, kimi ja nakya is a catchy disco track, the kind of song that makes you want to stand up and start clapping and dancing. The music video is interesting, since it's completely nonsense from beginning to end, with some of the weirdest choreography we've ever seen. Combining the nice and funny song with such a crazy video is quite enjoyable and rather refreshing. Of course, the lyrics themselves aren't serious at all, either. Even if you hate disco music or the singers, you can't hate this song.

The second song on this single is called Ai ni ikou. It's a mid-tempo pop song with a light R&B sound and strings. The style is completely different from the first track; it sounds a little like Monkey Majik meets V6. The song has that typical style which we hear a lot from the music chart toppers lately, but it's quite a good song with a nice melody.

The last song on this single is 20 Sensation. The group uses a different style again, mixing electric guitars with trumpets and standard Johnny's pop. It's a style that we hear a lot on V6's albums. This track is quite catchy, but it's not as good as the other two because of its repetitive chorus of "Let's communica-tion!"

Overall, this single is quite good. The title track is catchy and funny to listen to (and to watch), and though the other two tracks are more typical, they remain pleasant to listen to. Fans of V6 and Johnny's should absolutely give it a go.
