Singer Suga Shikao has confirmed that he will visit the UK during his new tour JAPAN-UK circuit 2010.
The singer will be making one quick stop in the UK, where he will be performing at the O2 Academy Islington in London on Sunday 14th November. Other shows during this tour will be held at ZEPP tokyo and ZEPP Osaka on November 22nd and November 25th.
Tickets will go on sale on September 9th at 9am (local time) and can be ordered here.
This week, Japanese electronics company Sanyo announced that an agreement had been made with H&P, the company responsible for managing the image of late X JAPAN guitarist hide. With this, the heavily-publicized Fever X JAPAN pachinko machine has been officially launched. Distribution of the machines commenced on September 6th.
Widely advertised throughout Japan, the Fever X JAPAN unit includes a multitude of song clips, in addition to both all-new animated clips and brief live-action PVs recorded for the game. Attendees of the recent lives in Yokohama were given pamphlets on the history of both Sanyo's pachinko lines and X JAPAN itself. Interestingly, little mention was made of hide.
quaff, who were once known for their modern rock'n'roll look and genre-transcending music, have undergone a major line-up change, as well as switching to a more visual kei-based image.
The band announced that all members except guitarist MAKITO will be leaving the band. It was stated that there weren't any personal problems or musical differences, but that the old members have just chosen "a new path."
quaff has now transformed into a quintet. The new members are Mio Kagura on vocals, Renji as the second guitarist, Neu on bass and Iori on drums.
It seems that October 1st will be the last day for the old band members, as well as the introduction for the new ones, with a live performance at CLUB PHASE in Shinjuku with all ten members. It is unknown at this time if the band's music style will also drastically change or if the old members will still continue working in the music industry, but more information should be available soon.
Bassist MASASHI, who has been a support member of Versailles after their original bassist Jasmine You passed away last year, has become an official member of the band. MASASHI has been part of various visual kei bands in the past and has also supported various bands such as Kozi.
Versailles have also announced a new release, the single DESTINY-The Lovers-, to be released on October 27th. The single will be released in three different versions. Each edition will contain the title track and two of the editions will come with an additional DVD.
MIYAVI, who is currently working on his new album, WHAT'S MY NAME?, has announced a collaboration with American pop-punk band Good Charlotte.
The singer will feature on the song Like It’s Her Birthday for Good Charlotte's upcoming album Cardiology. The album will go on pre-sale in Japan on October 27th as part of group’s first album after changing record labels. Like It’s Her Birthday will be a bonus track on the Japanese version only.
Good Charlotte say that they have always had a lot of respect for Japan and have been wanting to collaborate with a Japanese artist for a while. After seeing MIYAVI perform live, they asked him if he would like to collaborate with them.
In addition to this, we are happy to inform that MIYAVI and his wife, popstar Melody, are expecting a second baby. Their daughter, Lovelie, is already a year old and Melody says that she expects her to be a good older sister.
BEAT CRUSADERS, a well known Japanese rock band who announced this summer that they will "disperse" after a last live on September 4th, will celebrate this change with some releases.
DefStars Records will release a special best-of album called REST CRUSADERS on October 6th. The regular edition will contain a selection of their best songs, some unreleased tracks and B-sides. The CD will also contain their latest releases LET IT GO and Situation.
A limited edition will be also released and will contain a bonus disc featuring collaboration and tribute songs. It will include songs featuring artists such as ASPARAGUS, TROPICAL GORILLA, Melon Kinenbi and Takahasi Hitomi, as well as covers of songs by AC/DC, METALLICA, The Carpenters, Shonen Knife and Husking Bee.
For long-time fans, Lastrum, the band's label between 1999 and 2003, will also release a best-of album on October 6th. LUST CRUSADERS -OTHER SIDE OF BEAT CRUSADERS- will contain some rare and unreleased tracks, such as songs released on omnibus CDs from the band's debut period.
VOLA & THE ORIENTAL MACHINE have announced the release of a new album.
PRINCIPLE will be released on September 22nd and will also be available in Japan via iTunes from September 15th. The successor of their first major album, SA-KA-NA ELECTRIC DEVICE, released a year ago, the new album will contain a total of ten songs.
VOLA & THE ORIENTAL MACHINE played in England in 2008, but if you are not familiar with them, you can check out their music on their official MySpace or the YouTube channel VOLA TV.
THE BAWDIES will release a new single called JUST BE COOL on September 15th.
The song is said to be a good start to new school year, with rock'n'roll guitars and the unique bluesy voice of vocalist ROY. As its B-side, the single will include a medley of nine songs recorded live during the band's one-man at Kitazawa SHELTER, the final of their tour THERE'S NO TURNING BACK.
JUST BE COOL will be released in both regular and limited versions. The latter will be limited to 20,000 copies and will feature a bonus DVD including a extended version of the PV for the title track. THE BAWDIES will also release a 7" version, limited to 1,000 copies only, featuring a cover version of PRIMAL SCREAM's song ROCKS, from the single HOT DOGS, as a B-side.

Singer-songwriter KOKIA will release an album of cover songs on September 15th.
Entitled Musique a la Carte, the album will include her versions of songs such as Over The Rainbow and The Long and Winding Road. Covers featured on previous albums and singles, such as Desperado and Moonlight Shadow, will also be included.
In addition, a one-off live set will be played to accompany the release of the album. "Musique a la Carte" Special Live will be held at jazz bar STB 139 in Roppongi on September 23rd.
To commemorate their 10th anniversary, visual kei band Nightmare will release a greatest hits album, called Historical -The highest Nightmare-, on October 20th.
The album will contain twelve re-recorded tracks of songs which where released before Nightmare’s tranfer to the record label VAP, such as Fly me to the Zenith and D Senjo no Tragedy. A bonus feature will also be included, but further details of this have yet to be announced.
Visual kei band Alice Nine will release a new single, titled Stargazer, on November 10th.
It will be released in three editions with one regular and two limited. The regular edition will feature the bonus track Karma, which will not appear on the limited editions. Limited Type A will include the PV and making-of for Stargazer, while Limited Type B will come with a documentary entitled Alice Nine Live Tour 10FLASH LIGHT from the past. Both limited editions will have an alternate CD cover.
Important news for fans attending the European tour of el-Ethnic Legist. Changes have been made in their tour schedule, with one show cancelled and two new shows added.
The concert in Strasbourg, France, which was planned for September 10th, has been cancelled. Tickets for this show will be refunded and an explanation for the cancellation will soon follow.
Two new dates have been added to the schedule. There will be one extra concert in Luxembourg on September 17th, which will have free entry, and another date in Reims, France, on September 23rd.

DEATHGAZE have provided more information about their new album, which will be released on December 8th.
It will be called BLISS OUT and will be released in both regular and limited editions. Its regular edition will contain eleven songs, including latest their singles SORROW and BLOOD. The limited edition will include a bonus CD containing six re-recorded songs from their previous releases: miscarriage, killing floor, FAZE HUMAN, RAZE HUMAN, proof, gethsemane and Mr.FREAKS.

Not long after the release of their single Namida no regret, pop-rock band SCANDAL have already announced the release of a new maxi-single, Scandal Nanka Buttobase, for October 6th.
The single will be available in four different editions, including one regular and three limited. All three limited editions will feature a cardboard sleeve and each will come with a different bonus DVD featuring a PV for one of the songs Shunkan Sentimental, Namida no Regret or Taiyo to Kimi ga Egaku STORY.
Visual rock band MUCC have announced further information about their upcoming album, which will be released on October 6th.
The album will be titled Karma and will include the previously released singles freesia and Yakusoku, as well as the upcoming single FALLING DOWN and eleven other songs.
Karma will be available in both limited and regular editions. The limited edition will include a DVD featuring material from last summer's MUCC day on June 9th and a video shooting, which took place on June 12th. The band is also offering a bonus gift for customers who buy both the album and their newest single, FALLING DOWN, released on September 22th, though details of its exact nature are unknown.
MERRY will release new single on October 6th, titled CRISIS MOMENT.
The single will be released in two editions. The regular edition will include three songs: CRISIS MOMENT, Fleeting Prayer and a bonus unplugged version of the title track. The limited edition will contain a bonus DVD featuring the music video for the title track and two videos from their live at CLUB QUATTRO on August 7th, titled The Cry Against... -bootlegged- and Oriental BL Circus.
Moreover, a password to access a special website will be added to the regular version of the new single. This website will feature live footage from CORE LIMITED GIGS 2000 #1 ～「Tokyo Decadence」～ and further details will be provided inside the CD package.
Singer/Songwriter Takeuchi Mariya will release her upcoming single Whisky ga, osuki desho on November 3rd.
Takeuchi Mariya began her musical career whilst studying in the Literature Department at Keio University with the single Modotte oide/Watashi no jikan and the album BEGINNING. Before her marriage to musician Yamashita Tatsurou, with whom she has also worked, Takeuchi Mariya also collaborated with other household names including Katou Kazuhiko, Hosono Haruomi and Tsugei Nobutaka. The artist most recently released the single Enishi no ito in November 2008 and her upcoming single will be used in the commercial for Suntory "Kaku Highball".
Whiskey ga, osuki desho will be released in CD-only format and will include the aforementioned CM arranged version of the title track, an orchestra arrangement and their instrumental counterparts, plus an English version of the song titled You & Night & Whisky.
Matenrou Opera announced that they will release a new album, called Abyss, on December 22nd.
It will be released in two versions. The regular edition will include seven songs and a DVD including a PV and making-of footage. The limited edition will include the main CD as well a special original design T-shirt.
This will be Matenrou Opera's first album since going major. Their last indie live took place on August 30th at Shibuya AX. Abyss will be released under their new label, King Records.
Alternative Rock band BUMP OF CHICKEN will release their upcoming single Uchuu hikoushi e no tegami/Motorcycle on October 13th.
BUMP OF CHICKEN have gained considerable popularity with both Japanese and Western audiences since their formation in 1994 and, over the duration of their career, fifteen of their seventeen singles have reached the Top 10. In April, the band released the singles HAPPY and Mahou no ryouri ~kimi kara kimi e~ and the latter was used as the April to May song for the NHK music show "Minna no Uta". These two singles peaked at number one on the Oricon charts in two consecutive weeks which made BUMP OF CHICKEN the second band to achieve this since the release of ORANGE RANGE's Love Parade and Onegai! Señorita back in 2005.
Uchuu hikoushi e no tegami/Motorcycle will be released in CD format only and will feature a total of three songs.
Legendary visual rock band D'ERLANGER will release a new album called a Fabulous Thing in Rose on September 29th.
The album will contain eleven tracks, among which are English and self-cover versions of songs from the CDs LA VIE EN ROSE and BASILISK, plus one new song. It will be available in two versions. The limited edition will include three "best tracks", selected from from three albums released after their comeback, three "bonus tracks", an A4-size book, a 64-page photobook, a poster and more. The regular edition will include only four "bonus tracks".
In addition to this, the band is planning to organize a two-day live, titled ABSTINENCE’S DOOR, which will take place at STUDIO COAST in Tokyo on September 19th and 20th. Other bands, such as HEAD PHONES PRESIDENT, girugamesh, acid android, defspiral and Korean group PIA, will also participate in the event.
Shunsuke Kiyokiba, former lead singer of popular group EXILE, will release two new singles in the upcoming months.
Maho no Kotoba will be released on September 29th and will contain three songs, while Yale, which features a currently untitled ballad, will be released a month later on October 27th.
Johnny's idol group Arashi will release a new single on October 6th, titled Dear Snow.
The single will be avaible in both regular and limited editions. The regular edition will come with Dear Snow and a currently untitled B-side, as well as karaoke versions of both tracks. The limited edition will come with just the title track and a DVD featuring its PV.
Hello! Project group Morning Musume will release the song Appare kaiten zushi under the alias Muten Musume on October 27th.
Kansai-based sushi chain Muten Kura Sushi have recently caused an online debate due to their latest marketing campaign: a song performed by a mystery group which, it was revealed on August 28th, will be released on CD. The enigmatic female idol group Muten Musume has been formed in the hope of "broadening the culture of sushi worldwide".
With the release of the song, Japan wants to tell the world about one of its national prides: Food Culture. The concept was first introduced to the Muten Kura Sushi chain on August 13th in Osaka and with its up-tempo composition and simple lyrics, the song is suitable for both adult and child audiences alike. The project first formed earlier this year when Tsunku♂ was asked by the chain to produce a campaign song for their brand.
Pop-rock band THE KIDDIE will release a new single on September 22nd titled Calling.
The single will be released in two versions. The regular edition will include the bonus track Awa to Cider, which won't be included on the limited edition, which will instead come with a bonus DVD featuring a PV. This PV can be watched on King Records label's YouTube account, here.
