Having already announced Unshin's album launch, set for September 3rd, Japanese music night organisers Japan Underground have announced two new nights for the upcoming months.
The first new event will be held at The Victoria in Birmingham on September 29th. The evening's headline act will be the first British J-pop star Bentley Jones, who will launch his new mini-album ♥ NIHON. The DJs will also be playing J-rock and visual kei music throughout the night. Bentley Jones has already gained popularity in Japan and has returned to the UK in order to promote his music. His songs have been used for various games in the "Sonic the Hedgehog" and "X Files" franchises, and his latest work sees him collaborating with Dr. Dre's son Curtis Young for the song So Much More, used as the theme for "SEGA All-Stars Racing" game.
Tickets cost £6 in advance and are available here.
On Saturday October 15th, Japan Underground will hold another special club night at Bloomsbury Lanes in London, which will last from 7pm until 3am. As well as featuring Japanese music from the DJs, this event will also feature three special guests. First of all will be Tokyo Pinsalocks, an all-female groove-pop trio who have toured the UK and US several times. There will also be a performance by GalapagosS, the new 8-bit techno-pop project of FLOPPY's Sharaku Kobayashi. Finally, techno-rock duo HONDALADY will make an appearance, known for writing video game music for the Ninentdo Wii.
Tickets cost £10 in advance and are available here. Further details about the event can be found here.
More information on Japan Underground and all of their upcoming events can be found on their official website.
