After hitting the second spot on the Oricon charts with their latest single Iiwake Maybe, with approximately 90,000 copies sold in the first week, 48-member girl group AKB48 have announced the release of a new single for October 21st titled RIVER.

RIVER will feature, besides the title song, a song by each of their subgroups: Kimi no koto ga suki dakara, sung by Under Girls and popular live song Hikoukigumo, sung by the newly-formed Theater Girls. The instrumental counterparts of all three tracks are also set to be included on the CD.

The single will be released in two editions: regular and theater. The latter is planned to come with a DVD including music videos of RIVER, Hikoukigumo and Kimi no koto ga suki dakara, plus a special clip featuring sixteen members of the group going on a date. The same version will also feature a ticket to a nationwide handshake meeting and a music-wise poll.
