Major band
kannivalism went on a long hiatus in early 2008 due to vocalist
Ryo being hospitalized for depression. Their full-length album, which was to be released that year, was postponed until further notice. During this period of inactivity for
kannivalism, guitarist
kei went on to have a solo career as he didn't want to stop making music while
kannivalism was on hiatus.
With a series of many new announcements on their OHP,
kannivalism is ready to begin their activities again, now with new drummer
mitsuya, previously from
BLACK JACK. A new song,
life is will be available for download at the
mu-mo digital store starting on September 9th, limited to Japan only. A new single, currently untitled, is scheduled for release on November 18th, with no other details available, and a new album, also currently untitled, will be released next year.
In addition to all of these music releases, international publisher Random House will publish a work written by
Ryo in which he talks in depth about his illness. Their comeback live will be on December 26th at Zepp Tokyo.
