Winners JaME's 5th Anniversary Contest A and Autograph Lottery B!

news - 08.05.2009 13:30
The deadline of the second set of contests has been reached! The contest, including the quiz, seemed to be regarded as a little more difficult than the simple autograph lotteries, and so we got a lot less replies - around 400 responses. However, this has made your chance of winning one of the exclusive signed T-shirts or towels much higher.

Surprisingly, out of these 400 responses, only 13 responses were 100% correct. This mostly has to do with the second question being a trick question... The winners have been randomly chosen from these 13 participants.

Danger Gang Autographed towel: Timoshina Elena M from Russia
MONORAL Autographed T-shirt with card: Jelita Alamanda L. from The Netherlands
GaGaalinG Autographed T-shirt: Isabell H. from Germany
MUCC Autographed T-shirt: Tatyana M. from Brazil
Jikuu kaizoku SEVEN SEAS Autographed T-shirt: Oona Sofia S. from Finland

For the curious ones who want to know if they answered the questions correctly, here they are:

1. What does the abbreviation 'JaME' stand for?

Most people answered this question correctly: "Japanese Music Entertainment." Some people thought it still meant "Japanese Music Europe" or even "Japanese Music America," which we are not using anymore.

2. Name two versions of JaME that, while active for a while, no longer exist.

This ended up being a bigger trick question than we expected. We were referring to language versions, and there were seven answers possible: the Swedish, Norwegian, Thai, Hungarian and Romanian version of JaME. We once had these, but they were closed due to inactivity. Next to that, due to a small mistake, the Swiss and Belgian versions are currently not working, so these were correct answers too.

Most people picked one of the preceding sites to JaME, such as Ongaku Da!, Japan Music or JRockFrance. Other options chosen by many were jmusiceuropa.com and jmusicamerica.com. However, these URLs are still accessible!

3. Danger Gang has contributed two songs to the European compilation album J-Visual[ism] 2. What are the titles of these two songs?

Almost everyone answered these correctly: the songs Core and Joukei no kanata.

4. Amongst GaGaalinG's past albums, a particular word stands out most. Which word is it?

We received a variety of answers for this question, such as Pierce, PUNX and RENDEZVOUS. However, the correct answer is "Royal," which is used in all three of GaGaalinG's albums: Royal Stranger, Royal Blood and Royal Punx.

5. Has MUCC ever undergone any member changes? If yes, in which year(s)?

Although a few people were sure that they had never changed any members, the correct answer is: yes, in 1999. As many people accurately replied, bassist Hiro left and YUKKE joined.

For autograph lottery part B, seven winners have been selected at random again. Just like the first part, we got over a 1000 responses. The following winners have been chosen:

Irokui.: Maria C. C. from Spain
LM.C: Ann-Kathrin H. from Germany
9GOATS BLACK OUT: Vitor G. J. from Brazil
DaizyStripper: Diana D. T. from Spain
Plastic Tree: Kamila G. from Poland
Sugar: Heather B. from the USA
Kitade Nana: Lisa A B. from the USA

Please note that the deadline has now passed and the winners have been chosen; you cannot participate in these contests anymore. We are still receiving emails from people wishing to participate in the first autograph lottery, which is not possible anymore.
