Wizard

indies - active (2004 - )
Wizard hasn't been around for very long and even though they don't really stand out all that much from other bands in the same genre, they do have many strong points.

Their songs are quite lively and are driven by a certain energy that's brought on by catchy riffs and Kaito's unique voice.

biography
It was in January 2004 that Kaito (ex. MA'riage), Mitsunori and HIRO (ex. Mistic Drug) began activities as Wizard.

Their first live took place at Ikebukuro CYBER where thirty copies of the maxi-single Scarmiglione were distributed. Even though Wizard's lineup was incomplete at the time, the maxi-single Fork to knife no trip theater was released on May 24th without the support of a label.

During that May, the band welcomed a new member: bassist Saki (ex. Quarry). Drummer Shou joined them in September, and a month before this Masumi (ex. Quarry) replaced guitarist Mitsunori. And yet, despite this unstable lineup, the band held many lives and distributed some singles during them.

In 2005, Ookami Shoujo as well as Platonic Boy were both released on February 22nd and those were the last Wizard releases without the support of a label. As a part of a promoting strategy, their label, SPEED DISK, suggested that they play a free concert at Ikebukuro CYBER in March and two of their songs, Trip★diner and Drenched girl, previously live distributed singles, appeared on the omnibus HYSTERIC MEDIA ZONE VI. After this, the band began their "Okama Fuesuta " (Okama Fiesta) 2005 - Anta no machi ni okama tourai tour.

But unfortunately, newcomer Shou didn't spend much time within the band and after their HOLIDAY Shinjuku live on June 17th, he left Wizard. Just nine days later, his successor, Haruka, joined.

They released nude baby in September and cult baby in October, both of which hit the Oricon Indies charts at 13th and 17th place respectively. On December 18th, they organised a threeman show to celebrate the release of their first full album, Gemini.

From January 2006, Wizard took part in many festivals, with bands like the Pumpkin head as well as others bands from their label. Their first - and of course, sold-out - oneman took place on February 5th at Takadanobaba AREA. The next month, their fourth maxi-single was released under the name of Whiteday. Afterward, they participated in some dates of the Shinrabanshou ~ kakuritsu hendou ~ TOUR'06 that was organized by their label.

They released their first DVD, Bribe of Love, on May 24th and followed up with two maxi singles in the following months. In September, the band started their first oneman tour, which lasted for three months.

The release of their second full-length album, Aquarius followed quickly and a European version will be available for sale in January 2007.
