Her third single, Gekkou Yoku, was a smash hit that won the new artist considerable attention, and her second album Tameiki kept her on the Oricon charts for 21 weeks! Her seventh single, Anata to no hibi, placed Shibata in the top 10 on the Oricon charts for the first time.
In 2006, she released the single Guren no tsuki which became the theme song for the drama Utsukushii Wana. The following year, Shibata's single Hiromi reached fifth place on the Oricon charts, her personal highest ranking.
