Even though nano have their own songs, which are an aggressive sound style, they also cover some of Penicillin's songs by adding their own personal touch through digital remixes.

nano was formed at the start of 2006 by Penicillin vocalist Hakuei and guitarist Chisato. The two have had other solo activities in the past, however this is the first time that they have paired together during their 14 years as members of Penicillin. Hakuei and Chisato have challenged various types and styles of music in their previous solo activities, and what they can create is seemingly endless.

In a question and answer session in the USA, nano stated the band would be short-lived (only several months) so they could return and continue with activities for Penicillin. Since nano will be active for a limited time, they will perform a vigorous schedule.

Within those several months, they also released seven singles which were released one day of each other and one album which was released 11 days after the last single. Each single contains two tracks: a cover of a Penicillin song and an original nano song. With each single there were two versions: one with a CD and another with CD+DVD. The DVDs contain short movies, a "chapter" per se; with all the DVDs combined they form a whole movie which we believe it was based on a famous Japanese story.
