Creature Creature

Creature Creature is the band fronted by legendary rock singer MORRIE. The DEAD END co-founder is joined by many well known musicians with connections to the visual kei scene, and are often considered as a 'legend' themselves. Amongst them are tetsu of L'arc~en~ciel, Hitoki formerly of Kuroyume, Shinya of LUNA SEA, and several others. With rock music as the basis, MORRIE's characteristic voice brings uniqueness to the band's sound.

A big rush of excitement buzzed through the older J-rock community as the creation of a new band, Creature Creature, was announced in December 2005. The main cause of excitement was the fact that MORRIE was active in the music scene again. The former vocalist of the band DEAD END, a band that was very influential to many visual kei bands despite the fact they were around before the phenomenon visual kei was created, had been almost completely inactive since 1995 and it pleased many fans to know that he would be singing once again.

Additionally, he was joined by guest musicians such as guitarist Minoru of THE MAD CAPSULE MARKETS and bassist tetsu of L'arc~en~ciel. The three of them started to write and record songs which were released in July in three singles, Red, Kaze no tou and Paradise. Shortly after, they released their first album, Light&Lust.

Aside from some infrequent performances, it turned completely silent around the band after 2006. It started to look like Creature Creature was a one-time project only, but after a year or two, their fans were pleasantly surprised with the group announcing two performances for June 2009. This time, MORRIE is joined by guitarists Hiro (Libraian, ex-La'cryma Christi) and Shinobu (ex-Guy's Family), bassist Hitoki (ROBO+S, ex-Kuroyume) and drummer Sakura (S.O.A.P., ex-L'Arc~en~Ciel).

Hopefully, their upcoming two concerts will be the start of more Creature Creature activities, and we hope that MORRIE will surprise us with some new releases in the near future!
