Vizell was formed in May 1999 by Tatsuya and Kaine, who had previously been together in a band called Viel;Zeil. After a while, Hikaru (ex- ANGERA) and their support drummer Takeshi joined. Their first concert was in August of the same year, so it's possible that Viel;Zeil was the first name the band used, later changing it to Vizell after the other two members joined.
In October, their first single, Gift, was released and included two regular songs and one bonus track. However, it was obvious that they had little experience. Tatsuya didn't have much of a chance to show what he could do with his voice due to abrupt music changes. Things improved with the release of their second single at the beginning of 2000. Their music became more melodious, which showed Tatsuya's voice off better, and the music improved. Nevertheless, the style was still dark.
They held a lot of concerts and performed on stage with many famous indie bands from that time, like Psycho le Cému, ElDorado, Syndrome, Dué le Quartz and ACiD. In May they participated in events with kagerou, wyse, Lamiel, JILS and Phobia, but most of the time they played in events and concerts with other Donuts Record bands.
After two further releases that included what could be considered the most famous song from the band, Shitsuke, and many one-mans, Hikaru decided to leave the band. In June 2001 the band stopped their live activities, but said that it would only be a break. At the same time their second mini-album, Kaleidoscope, came out.
After their unofficial disbanding, Kaine and Tatsuya formed the band Arpege. Unfortunately, this band only did live appearances and disbanded a few months later. Since then, both have disappeared from the music scene.
Hikaru stayed in the music world until 2003. He joined KISUI Project, the session band formed by former Phobia vocalist Kisui, and disappeared after its breakup.
In the past two years, Kaine and Hikaru have resurfaced briefly. Hikaru returned to the stage as support drummer for lynch. in the summer of 2006 while Kaine started a new band, along with KISUI, called 6R.
It is not certain what the true meaning of their name is, but it was often said that it was German. A fan site supposed that their name was derived from the German word for "multicellular."
They were one of the most famous bands from Nagoya and had been influenced by others such as Lamiel, Phobia, deadman and Kein. Their music was often compared to Lamiel's, dark and melodious, and they were also good friends with them.
Like most indie bands from Nagoya, they were signed with Donuts Record West, which is still famous for bands like Barby, Ichigo69 and Aliza Marie.
