BEE-315

indies - hiatus (2004 - 2007)
BEE-315 is a three man band most widely known for being the side project of RIU from metronome. However, this is where the similarities between these two bands end because sound-wise, BEE-315 deliver cheerful punk-rock music, similar to bands such as SUM41, Blink-182 and ELLEGARDEN, which they cite as their influences.

The band was active for a few years, alongside the three members’ other projects and bands. Unfortunately, it has been silent around the trio for quite some time now and there seem to be no concrete plans for any revivals.

biography
BEE-315 consists of vocalist and bassist RIU (metronome), vocalist and guitarist KAWASAKI (Barbell) and drummer KENTALOW (Parking Out). Their name is based on the fact that all members have blood type B, and the numbers in their name are a Japanese pun for “B is the best.”

The three became acquaintanted as their bands toured together and also participated in session bands together. Also BEE-315 started as a session band in 2004, as the three musicians were playing mostly for fun only and covered songs they liked. Soon, they also began composing their own material but kept the fun and easy-going mentality in their work.

Their first release, a self-titled maxi-single, was sold at their concert on December 30, 2004 but was re-released in January 2005. A year later, they released their first full-length album B PATTERN MAXIMUM!!

The year 2007 even brought two releases for the band, the two mini-albums BOOST UP YOUR FUN! and Where did they go?. Although there was never an official announcement made, after their lives in December, the trio ceased activity. It came as a disappointment to their fans, although not as a big surprise, since BEE-315 was a side-project only, as opposed to a band the three members devoted themselves to full-time. The members have since continued working on their own projects and bands, and although there has been no word about any revivals yet, we hope to see this fun trio back on stage soon!
