Zy 51: D

interview - 20.05.2010 18:00

The Rose knows everything….

2010 is the seventh anniversary for D. While they had an accident at the beginning of this year when ASAGI fell down in a fan club live, they got over it with their admirable spirit. And on their new album 7th Rose, which was produced during their fan club live tour, they portray a strong deep world view more than ever before. Even though the group has had difficulties, D has such an immeasurable power that they have transcended it and grown even bigger. You can’t miss it when you listen to their music.

At the end of January, there was an accident where ASAGI fell during the first fan club tour live in Nagoya. Can I ask you about this accident and how the members felt?

HIROKI: The Nagoya live was canceled unfortunately. The four of us members decided to stand on the stage, because we heard that ASAGI said enthusiastically, “I really want you to do lives in Osaka and Tokyo even if it’s just the four of you.” We talked many times about how we could do good lives concerts without him, and we showed the set list the four of us decided on and got his advice. As a result, we learned so much…I think we gained confidence, so that when ASAGI came back we were better and stronger.

HIDE-ZOU: During that, I thought about various things. Usually ASAGI thought about the construction of our lives, but this time the four of us had to think about it, so we could see our weak points more objectively and have more awareness about how it’s important to change our minus into pluses.

Ruiza: In the two lives (in Osaka and Tokyo), we were helped by the audience a lot. We got a lot of their power.

Tsunehito: When the audience saw the stage without ASAGI, I think they were confused at first. However, they sang with all their might to lead the lives. I was so thankful. I always thank fans, but this time it was much bigger.

We prefer such accidents not to happen…but you have to change the situation into a plus. And whether you can change it into something positive will affect how you will be from then on. If you can make the bonds that are born here even stronger, the band grows stronger.

ASAGI: I’m very sorry that I worried so many of our fans everywhere. It was regrettable. I had never collapsed in a live concert and I thought I could get through a live with my spiritual power even if I wasn’t well. I think that I was overworking, and it just suddenly came out. I knew in my head that things weren’t right, but I couldn’t slow down. The doctor in the hospital said that the only way to recover was to rest, but we couldn’t cancel all of our schedule. Of course I take medicine, but I work hard now as I want to make the best album I can. I am really thankful to the other members, and to the fans and staff who helped the other four members do the remaining concerts. Honestly, I was moved to tears when I saw the live DVD and listened to the music which was recorded. I have been encouraged by so many people, and I look forward to showing everyone a more active and powerful D as soon as possible.
