Moi dix Mois is the solo project of Mana (ex-Malice Mizer). He writes both the music and the lyrics, and arranges, produces and publishes the releases on his own record label, Midi:Nette.

The concept of Moi dix Mois is a combination of opposites: beauty and darkness, elegance and aggression, creativity and destruction. Classical elements, electric guitars, harpsichord, church organs and deep operatic vocals give Moi dix Mois a dark, often hard and sometimes quiet, melodious sound. In keeping with their gothic image, Moi dix Mois' lyrics center around melancholy themes such as world-weariness, loss and death, but also self-awareness and critical thinking.

Mana is also responsible for the band's costumes: he and the other members wear the designs of his fashion label, Moi-même-Moitié. With their performances not limited to Japan, but extending to Europe, Moi dix Mois shows great promise for the future.
